A town, small port and fishermen's centre in the south-western part of the western Istrian coast in the Fažana Strait, 8 km northwest of Pula. Town is protected from the sea by Brijuni Islands.
Chief occupations include fishing, fish-processing and building of smaller fishing boats. Glass-processing is also well-developed. Fazana is known as a port and also as a departure point of boats for Brijuni National Park. In the neighbourhood of Fazana are many vineyards and orchards, which add to the picturesque aspect of this Mediterranean town. The church of St. Elys from the 6th century is located in the surroundings and it was built on the foundations of a late antique villa.
